Exciting News - Direct Hiring events March 23, 30, 31, and April 1

To speed up the hiring process, IRS is hosting virtual and in-person Direct Hiring Events for seasonal Clerk and Tax Examiner positions in Submission Processing, Ogden, UT. Applicants attending events who qualify for a Clerk or Tax Examiner position, may be given an on-the-spot job offer during the hiring event and can expect to begin working within 30-45 days. Direct hire applicants may qualify for a hiring recruitment incentive (reference the “Additional Information” section of the job announcement) and current employees may qualify for the Employee Referral Bonus Program.
  • GS 3-5 Clerks
  • GS 4-5 Tax Examiners
Events are open to the public and job seekers can join us virtually or in person. No prior federal or tax experience is needed, training will be provided. Virtual Direct Hiring events, you must preregister to attend.
  • Register Virtual Event - March 23, 2022, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Register Virtual Event - March 30, 2022, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Job Seekers must bring the Required Information listed below to the in-person events.
In-person Direct Hire events, preregistration is encouraged but walk-ins are also welcome.
  • Register In-Person Event - March 31, 2022, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Register In-Person Event - April 1, 2022, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

REQUIRED INFORMATION for the March 31 and April 1 In-Person job fairs:
  1. A current resume which must show your dates of employment in a month/year format and include the hours worked per week. Example: Harmon’s Store Clerk, March 2020 to January 2021, 40 hours per week.
2. Two government-issued forms of identification options include: (i.e., state driver's license and/or state Identification card, birth certificate, U.S. Passport, Military ID card or Social Security card).
We can’t accept expired or “paper/temporary” forms.

Qualifying for an IRS job:
  • You must be a U.S. citizen
  • Be at least sixteen years old
  • Pass a background and fingerprint check
  • Pass a tax compliance check of prior tax year taxes
  • Selective Service Registration for males born after 12/31/59 is required
